Last But Not Least

By Da-Hwee Kim, Editor-in-chief

This is my second and final winter as editor-in-chief. Time passes as if traveling at the speed of light. It seems like just yesterday that I first came here and started writing articles, but it's really hard to believe that two years have already passed. Actually, a lot of things happened while I was with the Herald. It's hard to list them all one by one, but I think I was able to learn about life and grow to the next level.

In fact, when I say “the last time,” complex emotions come to mind, and the feeling of disappointment is greater than that of relief. I thought I would feel relieved when it was time to leave, but for some reason, a subtle feeling took hold of me. By the way, what does “last” mean to you? I hope each of you will think about it for a moment at least for five seconds. It may sound like a cliché, but isn't there a saying that the end of something is the new beginning of something else? No matter what happened this year or what you planned, whether it was good or bad, I hope you leave it all in your memories. Why? Because I want you to be happier than anyone else in the new year!

Lastly, before I leave, I would like to leave a brief thank you. First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to former editor-in-chief Park Sol-hyang, who handed over the editor-in-chief position to me. I want you to know that this title has had a huge positive influence on me. And the 44th, 45th and 46th reporters who were with me! I was very grateful to them for always working hard and sincerely in meetings and writing articles. Without you guys, the SM Herald wouldn't be able to run. Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude to Professor Samuel Alexander Denny, Jr., who always worked hard to proofread the manuscript, and to Director Kim In-cheol, who helped us with feedback on ideas.

Thank you so much for everything. I hope you have a warm end of the year and a pleasant new year, and please continue to support the Herald in the future.
